Hello Yong! I was in Korea ten months ago and followed your instructions on how to use Naver maps. Everything went well!!! No problems at all. I had also downloaded kakao app. Looking good by the way🤗🤗
My experience as a foreigner so far (I've been in Korea 3 times): - Last time on Jeju, I borrowed a car from Lotte car rental. It was easy to reserve and pick up even if you don't have a Korean card or ARC. I returned the vehicle like 2 hours in advance and they even refunded me that time. - I love to walk a lot, so I always get to places where locals don't think someone from another country will appear. They were then always really friendly and "tried to help" me, because they thought, that I was lost and didn't believe the thing, I just wanted to see that place :)
Don't rent a car in Jeju. Use Klook, Trazy, etc. There are other great apps. The Jeju tours are awesome. Driving would be a nightmare for parking, I saw NASTY morning traffic in Jeju and you meet people on tours. Jeju city is walkable or quick cab a short way here or there. Great surprising place to explore that i dont hear much about.
FYI.. i tried to empty my T Money card in a Taxi and it charged the whole trip to my card then he said it didnt work so I paid with Visa. Then my CC showed a TMoney charge plus the charge ro my visa. Strange.. just be aware.. i accept the $40 loss and thats that but. Fyi
I mostly used Google maps to just point me in the right direction for walking. I think it was because English was easier than wrestling with my limited Korean..i found Naver accurate for planning out routes or being more specific. I somply had downloaded all the KTalk Apps and used nothing but the K Metro map to refer to regularly. Papago and google translate are fine.. Uber was cheaper and worked as soon as I started using my SIM. I opened my app already on the phone and used it in Jeju mostly. Its cheaper and ease of use.
I used Naver when i went last summer. I used all the advice that Yong gave me in the Naver video. Coming back in October this year... summer was a bit too hot!
We were using Naver maps and it was perfect no issues at all. Strongly recommend
I have visited South Korea 2x, but I am still curious to this day. Restaurants typically serve large portion of food. I am amazed how Korean could eat so much but continue to have fit figures. If I were to order so much menu and end up not able to eat them all, will this disappoint the sajangnim?
I stayed in Korea for 14 days this Spring. I went completely alone to Jeju, Busa, Gyeongju and Seoul (met friends in Seoul tho). I did all that by myself, without speaking Korean, just using Naver map and Papago. Buses and subway are super easy to get by, especially if you are used to public transportation. If you use naver maps with your earbud/headphone, it even tells you when to get off (iOS version). That being said, finding places directly on Naver maps is not very easy if you can't type in Korean. Your videos helped a lot too!! :D
Hey! Is the Papago an app to pay subway and buses?
I will be going alone in Spring ‘25 for 18 days & looking forward to it. Your info was helpful.
Thank you for the video. Since i'm vegan it was nearly impossible to find restaurants with vegan options. But my tutor suggested to go and try temple food. This is what i will go for on my next trip to Seoul in April. Keep up the great work and take care. :)

복국은 어떻게 소개하면 좋을까요
Hi, will be in Seoul this July. I already downloaded apps which I think necessary for a foreigner like me. Do I need sign up for Naver Maps, Kakao Maps, Kakao Taxi, Papago? Any other useful apps I need to download? Thanks for your feedback😊
Very informative video. This will help me a lot in planning our itinerary. What do you recommend to visit during autumn season in replacement of cherry blossom area?😊
thanks for these videos!!! Can you please do a video on vegetarian/pescatarian dishes? Most of the dishes you recommended in this video are based on pork, chicken or cow meet... I would like to know what to order if I don't eat that kind of meet (I eat eggs, milk and seafood). Thanks :)
the best!
제주도에 가으니까 아주 감사합나다.

Hello there! I love your channel! So informative. I'm travelling to Korea next month for a short trip with my 2 kids. I plan to leave our 2 big luggage in the airport before proceeding to Jongno-gu where we will be staying. I read that luggage storage is in Terminal 1. We will be arriving in terminal 2. Are those 2 terminals connected and I can just walk there to leave our luggage? Thanks so much!
